Youtube Tutorial - Sexy Sultry Navy Blue Look - My Birthday MakeUp

Hey guys!

Yet another make up tutorial today, and this one's a LOT more 'dressier' than some of my other recent ones. But hey, you gotta mix it up right? Hehe

This is the look that I wore on my birthday to go out with a couple of friends for dinner and drinks. I really hope you guys like this look - personally I LOVE it. Thought I probably love it so much because I lurrrrrrrrve purples and blues together and I'm addicted to navy at the moment - it seems to be a very popular colour this year for autumn/winter.

I thought I'd share a small tip on how to get your eyeliner to last really long with you in the video as well ;)

List of products I used:
EYES:
- Too Faced Shadow Insurance
- MAC FluidLine Blacktrack (base and liner)
- Barry M Dazzle Dust - DD23 Midnight
- MAC Eyeshadow - Parfait Amour
- MAC Eyeshadow - Digit
- Barry M Kohl Pencil - KP1 Black
- MAC Eyeshadow - Carbon
- MAC False Eyelashes - #34

LIPS:
- Barry M Lip Liner - LL6 Chocolate
- Urban Decay Pocket Rocket - Max

FACE:
- MAC Studio Sculpt Concealer - NW35
- GOSH Pressed Powder - #03 Warm Sand
(I was not wearing any foundation in this video but I did on my birthday, so obviously you can wear your foundation)
- GOSH Natural Blush - #39 Electric Pink

Review: Maybelline New York Falsies Mascara

Information on back of packaging:
MORE VISIBLE LASHES FROM CORNER TO CORNER. GET A FALSH LASH VOLUME LOOK EVERYDAY.

Discover the new Falsies mascara from Volum' Express, for a false lash volume look.

The Pro-Keratin & Fibre enriched formula attaches to lashes you didn't know you had and creates a false lash look of thicker and longer lasghes.

Our patented Spoon Brush fans out lashes and ensures generous product deposit. Our unique flexible stem helps build volume without clumping.

RESULT: FALSE LASH VOLUME. FULL SET OF VOLUMINOUS LASHES - CORNER TO CORNER. NO CLUMPS.

I didn't mention the flexible wand in the main review because I didn't find that it affected the way it made my lashes look - and I certainly don't see the relationship between a flexible wand and no clumps. Do you understand that theory? I would think that the formula, amount of mascara you apply and HOW you apply it would affect the amount of clumping you would get - but hey that's just my opinion.

Click here to see the full review on my youtube channel.

If you have any questions feel free to ask by commenting below this or below the video, or you could even message me on YouTube!

Thanks for reading and I hope this was helpful

Miscellaneous: Pointless visits to uni, new weekly swimming vow and NEW HAIRCUT! =D

This week has been a busy week for me. I actually woke up on Monday, annoyed that I had to go into uni to sort out some stuff - like really, my university is so damn unorganised! I got my results about a month later than I should have and I've only JUST been registered for my modules that I've chosen to take this year, which start this coming MONDAY! But it's all sorted now so I'm happy! =D

Tuesday I decided to go for a swim because I hadn't been in a while and I really really really love to swim, so now I've made a vow to start going on a weekly basis. I used to go every week without fail, before I started uni but now I've decided to go again! Yay! =D

This is where I go for my swimmin' =]

This is what I look like after I've had a swim ... attractive no? HAHA

On Wednesday, once again, I decided (stupidly) to go to uni. This time I had to go to a different campus because I had to pick up my NUS Student Card - I travel an HOUR AND A HALF and the bloody office that I have to collect it from is SHUT... even though they have a massive sign on their door saying 'Open from 10am til 4pm) and I got there and 1pm! Another great example of my uni being undeniably stupid unorganised!

Today I got my haircut! YAY! I decided to change my usual side fringe that I think I've had for like... EVER... to a full fringe. And... I LOVE it! =D ... I love my hairdresser... she's amazing... and she's probably the only person I trust with a pair of scissors near my hair! Seriously... I barely trust myself to cut my hair!! Lol ... I also got a great ELF package today that I order a couple of days ago. Click here to watch the haul video! =]

No plans for tomorrow yet, but I'm sure I'll find something to do. After all... I have to show off my new hair cut now haha

Youtube Tutorial - Naked Palette Tutorial #3 (Using Sidecar)

Right so, in my opinion, Sidecar is probably the hardest eyeshadow to comprise a look with from this palette. It's incredibly glittery, a pretty light colour and can't really be used as a crease colour... but I think I did pretty well... right? hehe

Here are some pictures and the full list of all the products that I used:
EYES:
- E.L.F Studio Eyebrow Kit - Dark
- Urban Decay Primer Potion
- Urban Decay Naked Palette - Sidecar, Darkhorse, Hustle, Naked, Sin
- Urban Decay Dual Ended 24/7 Eyeliner (comes with Naked Palette) - Zero and Whiskey
- Maybelline Falsies Mascara

LIPS:
- GOSH Velvet Touch Lip Primer
- Barry M Lip Liner - #6 Chocolate
- Urban Decay Pocket Rocket - Max

FACE:
- Johnson and Johnson Daily Essentials Day Moisturiser (with SPF15)
- Bobbi Brown Skin Foundation SPF 15 - #5 Honey
- GOSH Velvet Touch Eye Primer

Youtube Tutorial - Jennifer Love Hewitt Inspired MakeUp Using UD Naked Palette

Howdy!

This look is based on the beautiful Jennifer Love Hewitt and her make up in her hit TV Show 'Ghost Whisperer'. I am a huuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuge fan of her show and I do think she is one of the most beautiful women, EVER.

Her make up on the show is normally rich with bronze/copper colours with shimmer. It does seem like she only uses one colour for her lid and doesn't use a separate colour in her crease, so I did just that and tried to layer different bronze and copper colours to make a 'statement' eyelid colour. Layering seems to be the key for this look.

So, wanna see what products I used?
Here they are:
EYES:
- E.L.F Studio Eyebrow Kit - Dark
- Urban Decay Primer Potion
- MAC Paint Pot Indianwood
- Urban Decay Naked Palette - Half baked, Smog, Darkhorse and Virgin
- MAC Eye shadow - Coppering (Veluxe Pearl)
- MAC Fluidline - Blacktrack
- Urban Decay 24/7 Eyeliner - Zero
- Maybelline Falsies Mascara

LIPS:
- Vaseline
- NYC Ultra Last Lip Wear - 413B Rose Gold
- E.L.F Mineral Lip Gloss - Sorority Girl

FACE:
- Bobbi Brown Skin Foundation SPF 15 - #5 Honey
- MAC Studio Sculpt Concealer - NW35
- GOSH Pressed Powder - #03 Warm Sand
- MAC Mineralise Skin Finish - Comfort
- MAC Blush - Peachtwist

BRUSHES/TOOLS:
- Fraulein Eyebrow Brush
- MAC 239
- MAC 217
- MAC 263
- Inglot 28PO
- Revlon Foundation Brush
- Revlon Conealer Brush
- Fraulein Powder Brush

Youtube tutorial - Spiced Neutral - Using Urban Decay Naked Palette

I know the Urban Decay Naked Palette is all about being neutral and natural with your eye make up, but what's the harm in spicing it up by adding some bright eyeliner and bold lips? ... Well, personally I don't think there's any harm in it! ;)

This is the look that I was wearing in my contest video and it was requested - along with a bunch of other looks using the Naked Palette. I figured this was a good place to start since I used the Naked Palette. But there will be plenty more tutorials using the Naked Palette, so if you don't like this one because it's too "un-neutral" for you then keep your eyes open for those!

You can however, just simply use exactly the same eye shadows from the palette and instead of using the blue eyeliner use a black or brown one to actually keep it neutral... and then go with pastel pink/peachy cheeks and lips! Perfect for school!

Click here to go watch the tutorial...

Anyway, here's the list of all the products I used =]
EYES:
- E.L.F Eyebrow kit - Dark
- Urban Decay Primer Potion
- Urban Decay Naked Palette - Sin, Buck, Naked and Virgin

- MAC Fluidline - Blacktrack
- Maybelline Falsies Mascara

LIPS:

- Barry M Kohl Pencil - KP18 Bright Metallic Purple
- MAC Satin Lipstick - Cyber

FACE:
- Bobbi Brown Skin Foundation SPF 15 - #5 Honey
- GOSH Velvet Touch Eye Primer
- MAC Studio Sculpt Concealer - - NW35
- GOSH Pressed Powder - #03 Warm Sand
- MAC Mineralize Skinfinish - Comfort
- E.L.F Shimmering Facial Whip - Toasted

LUSH Storage!

So... it hasn't been very long since I've started buying stuff from LUSH Cosmetics but my collection has grown over the little time that I have. I have many favourites from LUSH and I used to keep it in the bags that LUSH provide (y'know, the little yellow ones?) and shove it all into a little box. But, now I have a much better way of storing my LUSH goodies!

Yes, this is a fruit bowl. But when I saw it (which was actually by accident) I instantly thought of my LUSH stuff.  It's perfect! It's deep, and really quite big so it can store loads of LUSH stuff, if you're like me and just can't limit yourself to a few items when you visit them. And it's orange... so I HAD to by it!! Lol ... You can tell I love the Creamy Candy Bath stuff huh? Lol

The temperature's dropping so find your fruit bowl, get some LUSH goodies, run yourself a long, hot bath and relax - take time to organise your thoughts AND your LUSH stuffs.

Review: Urban Decay Naked Palette

Okay, so I'm gonna try and keep this as short as I possibly can!

Advantages:
1. The design of the palette is very chic, elegant and slim-lined making it much more travel friendly than most of the other Urban Decay palettes (such as the Book of shadows palettes etc.) The simple design fits the name of the palette perfectly!
2. The range of the colours of eye shadows are great. Urban Decay has done a very good job in choosing the eye shadow shades - and again fit the name well. Urban Decay wants you to 'go naked not neutral ... clothing is optional' as it states on the back of the packaging. Personally, I think it's a great aim for the palette and support it completely - with clothes on! =P
3. The only other palette I own by Urban Decay is the sustainable shadow box, and while I love the colours in that palette, I find that I don't use it often because the quality of the eye shadows aren't that great. I find that the glittery ones just have chunks of silver glitter in it, which makes it horrendous to apply. And the matt eye shadows are just really hard. The eye shadows in the Naked palette however, are amazingly better than those of the Sustainable Shadow Box. Every single eye shadow in the Naked palette is silky to touch and super pigmented, you don't really need to really scrub your brush into the product to get a good amount onto your eyelid.
4. You get 1.3g of each of the 12 eye shadows. That's £2.25 AN EYESHADOW!!!! And that to, a FULL eyeshadow! Considering each FULL Urban Decay Eyeshadow is £12.00 EACH, you're getting 12 of them for the price of 2 (and a quarter) with this palette... so when it comes to value for money, it's friggin' awesome!!
5. Last but not least, the whole package pretty much comes with EVERYTHING you need to create an eyelook. You have primer (it comes with a mini Urban Decay Primer Potion), your choice of 12 eyeshadows and your choice of eyeliner. Chuck in a mascara and you're ready to rock! =D

The only disadvantage to this palette is the material of the casing. It's faux velvet and will catch dirt (dust and fluff) really easily. So I'd recommend storing this palette in a drawer or somewhere, where it won't catch dust easily. And when you do want to spruce it up, just take a piece of cellotape or lint roll and run it over - that should the trick!

10 out of 10 for everything about this palette - it's a great palette and I would highly recommnend it to ANYONE. Especially if you love your neutrals!

Review: MAC Autumn/Fall 2010 Collection - Fabulous Felines

As promised, here's my review on the products I purchased from the Fabulous Felines collection.

Eyeshadow Quads - £29.50
1. Burmese Beauty
Prized - pale yellow beige, Satin
Burmese Beauty - Frosted brown green, Lustre
Skin tone 2 - Dirty gold, Frost
Showstopper - Deep blackened brown, Matte

2. Leopard Luxe
Wild by nature - Midtone camel, Matte
Notoriety - Dirty brown with gold pearl, Velvet
Style Predator - Frosted midtone yellow orange, Veluxe Pearl
Furiously Fabulous - Frosted warm black, Veluxe Pearl

My thoughts and opinions:
The palette's are slightly hard for me to review because I've heard a lot of people say that the colours are very similar to some eye shadows that MAC already carry, or that they're re-promotes. Personally, I haven't been buying MAC products for a very long time so my collection isn't yet big enough to have dupes and re-promotes, so with that said, I love the palettes! For me the colours are pretty unique - I don't have similar colours in my entire make up collection let alone my MAC collection. However, I did find that Showstopper (Burmese Beauty Palette) is incredibly similar to 'Handwritten' by MAC.

Both palettes would be great to carry on holiday as they can offer a variety of looks - day and evening, natural and glamorous.

Superslick Liquid Eyeliners - £14.50
Signature Blue - Dark navy with soft pearl (Palace Pedigreed)
Treat me nice - Emerald Green with soft pearl (Burmese Beauty)

My thoughts and opinions:
LOVE! LOVE! LOVE! These things are amazing. Truly. Everything is in the name of this product! They're so pigmented, they dry to a semi-metallic (superslick) finish giving an almost wet-look, incredibly easy to apply and they dry super quickly. The applicator is a felt tip so you don't have to worry about fraying brushes - these bad boys will stay pointed at the tip and will give you a super defined flick if necessary.

And it doesn't stop there... even the packaging is superslick and cool ;) ... they're slender enough to fit into your make up bag if you feel that you need to top up on these, though you shouldn't have to because once it goes on it's pretty tough getting it off! Hence, they're completely smudge proof. And they're colour coordinated so it's easy to get your hands on if you haven't got a very organised stash ;). They'd be interesting to use as a base for your eye shadow... Hmm...

On the down side, MAC didn't release too many 'WOW-worthy' colours, but I still think that these superslick super-awesome eye-liners are completely worth buying and should be the ONE thing you buy if anything.

They are new to MAC so will they add these to their permanent line? Who knows? I hope so...

Lipsticks - £12.50
Cunning - Dark berry, Frost (Palace Pedigreed)
Drive me wild - Midtone warm coral with gold pearl, Cremesheen (Leopard Luxe)

My thoughts and opinions:
Well, let's be honest. There's not much to say about MAC lipsticks when it comes to reviewing the product itself. There's no fancy packaging in this collection, just the standard black and silver bullet style. And to be honest, the colours in this collection didn't really fascinate me either (apart from the two that I picked up).

I was going to buy 'Kittenish' which is part of Burmese Beauty, but it's exactly the same colour as 'Cunning' ... only 'Cunning' is a frost and 'Kittenish' is a cremesheen - so they would apply differently, but I prefer 'Cunning' as much as I love the cremesheen finish.

I do really like 'Drive me wild'. The name is catchy and the colours is gorgeous! I was worried that it was too similar to 'Thrills' (from the To The Beach collection) but I was hugely wrong, so I was pleased about that. If anything, it's a much better colour than 'Thrills'. I'm sure this lipstick would be great to wear with whatever look you create using the Leopard Luxe palette.

Tinted Lipglasses - £12
Jealous - light dirty green with pearl (Burmese Beauty)
Best of breed - light dirty blue with pearl (Palace Pedigreed)

My thoughts and opinions:
Again, can't really comment much on these. They're pretty much the same as any other tinted lipglass MAC has to offer, regarding the consistency and texture on the lips. The colours of these two lipglasses are what drew me to them. They're unique colours, and certainly nothing like any lipglosses/lipsticks I have in my make-up collection.

The colour doesn't transfer to the lips unless you put it over a matching lipstick maybe...
...but the colours are still great. 'Best of breed' works great over 'Cunning' and both tinted lipglasses match their palettes well.

MAC Haul: Fabulous Felines

Hallo there!

The Fabulous Felines collection has been released (big YAY) and is MAC's Autumn/Fall collection for 2010.
The collection is split into three parts:
- Palace pedigreed - a collection consisting of rich royals such as purples, blues and smokey greys. A great collection for evening looks!

- Leopard Luxe - great collection with colours such as sandy yellows/tan, pale peachy/oranges, and creamy golds.

- Burmese Beauty - a collection of greens, browns and golden olives.

As I didn't buy anything from their last few collections I decided that the money that I saved from those would inevitably be spent on products from this collection. I also managed to pay for some of it using some gift cards I had received, so I was pretty lucky to have saved up.

Anyway... here's what I purchased (sorry there aren't any pictures of what I got, but as I've said before in previous recent blogposts, my camera's dead so I won't be able to put up pictures of hauls and things for a while - I'm barely managing to get up pictures of the looks that I do):
From Palace Pedigreed:
MAC Frost Lipstick - Cunning
MAC Tinted Lipglass - Best of Breed
MAC Superslick Liquid Eye Liner - Signature Blue

From Leopard Luxe:
MAC Eye Shadow Quad - Leopard Luxe (Wild by nature, Notoriety, Style Predator, Furiously Fabulous)
MAC Cremesheen Lipstick - Drive Me Wild (love the name of that one hehe ;) )

From Burmese Beauty:
MAC Eye Shadow Quad - Burmese Beauty (Prized, Burmese Beauty, Skintone 2, Showstopper)
MAC Tinted Lipglass - Jealous
MAC Superslick Liquid Eye Liner - Treat me nice

Quick review on what I got:
I've always been sceptical about purchasing MAC items from their website without seeing it in it's true form as sometimes the colours can be different to what they are in reality, but I decided to take a chance with this collection - and I was pleasantly suprised.

I'm greatly happy with all the products that I purchased. I'm so happy with them all that I wouldn't be able to pick out a favourite product for a while, until I start using one particular product again and again ... and again!

To check out each part of the collection click on the one you want to see and it'll take you straight to the MAC online page! Happy shopping! =D
- Palace Pedigreed
- Leopard Luxe
- Burmese Beauty

Let me know what you got, if anything, from the collection and/or what do you think about the full collection?!?

Youtube Tutorial - Mint Contrast (Green and Navy Blue)

Hey guys!

I mentioned in my August Favourites video that I would do a tutorial using the Barry M Dazzle Dust in Mint Green, so here it is. Apologies for the horrible pictures, but you may have to put up with that quality for a while until I either get my camera sorted or just simply get a new one.

Before I purchased the MAC eye shadow in Contrast, I tried this look with black and that works just as well, but I'm fed up with using so much black so I went for navy blue instead. And the blue goes so well with the green, which is great!
